In the UK and Ireland, QVC is the leading shopping channel. The company employs over 2,000 employees in the UK split over two sites: Battersea in London, and Knowsley, just outside of Liverpool.

Ryzex has supported and maintained QVC's entire estate of handheld mobile computers for a number of years.

QVC required a new hand held solution for ‘put away' applications in their warehouse for jewellery stock. They needed a device that was smaller and more lightweight than their existing units as it was felt that their current equipment was not fit for purpose with this specific application.

As a vendor neutral mobile technology solutions partner, Ryzex recommended a range of market leading devices to QVC that would meet their customers' specific requirements. After careful evaluation the Skorpio™ was chosen for many reasons; excellent manufacturer pre-solution support, superb value for money and most essentially that the device was much more ergonomic and easier to use.

Since the installation, QVC have found that the Skorpio™ has gained swift useracceptance. The clear, full colour screen and greater device ergonomics mean that QVC's users much prefer working with the new devices.

QVC continue to operate a large estate of legacy devices that have been discontinued by their original manufacturer. Ryzex's ability to service end of life equipment in their state of the art European repair facility means that QVC can continue to use their older devices in conjunction with the new Skorpio™ and will only need to upgrade their legacy estate as and when they are ready.

The full support that Datalogic Mobile has given both to QVC directly and through Ryzex over the course of the project and especially while integrating the new devices coupled with the broad product portfolio that Datalogic Mobile offers, means that they will be top of the list when QVC is ready for a further technology refresh.
